Lambertville Academy Playground Project – Final Phase

Lambertville Academy playground project - final phase

A playground for all!

For over 40 years, Lambertville Academy has served children and families in our community, providing a nurturing environment for learning and growth. Now, as we complete the final phase of our Playground Project, we’re excited to create a play space that matches the quality of our programs and serves as a welcoming hub for both our students and the wider community.

This is more than just a playground—it’s a place where children can develop important motor skills, foster creativity, and explore their imaginations. And for the first time, our playground will be open to the public after school hours, creating a space for families throughout Lambertville to gather, play, and connect.

what's coming in the final phase

Thanks to the generosity of Where Angels Play Foundation, this phase of the project will bring exciting updates to the playground:
  • Resurfacing: The current wood chips will be replaced with poured rubber surfacing for a safer, more durable play space.
  • New Climbing Structure: Designed for children ages 2-5, this centerpiece will offer opportunities for climbing, stretching, and imagining.
  • Open to the Community: After school hours, families in the community can enjoy the playground—weeknights after 6 PM and all weekend long.

A collaborative journey

The vision for this playground began in 2012, and each phase has been a labor of love. With the support of Where Angels Play, Jersey Mike’s Subs during their “Month of Giving”, and the broader community, we are making this dream a reality. This collective effort ensures that the children of Lambertville Academy and the broader community will have a safe, inspiring space to play for years to come.

Project Timeline

  • March 2025: Demo and site preparation begins.
  • End of April 2025: Volunteer-led assembly of the climbing structure.
  • Early May 2025: Ribbon-cutting ceremony, tentatively planned for Saturday, May 3rd.
